Monitoring, reporting and revision mechanisms

Collecting and maintaining high quality and up-to-date local data and information systems is a crucial responsibility of national and subnational governments and is fundamental for identifying problems and prioritizing policies, programs, and sustainable urban development interventions.

The region's potential to measure, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the progress of the strategic urban development objectives will depend on the capacities to collect, process and analyze statistical and geographic data and information coherently and consistently with international recommendations.
