On Tuesday, December 6, the XXXI Minurvi General Assembly continued at ECLAC headquarters, chaired by Carlos Montes, together with the Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Gabriela Aguilera, who served as Vice-President, with a closed meeting in which the regional authorities of the 16 countries present elected the new Minurvi board of directors, with the Minister of Territorial Development and Habitat of Argentina, Santiago Maggiotti, serving as President. Along with the establishment of three executive vice-presidencies, the vice-presidency of Solidarity in charge of Belize, the vice-presidency of Debate in charge of Colombia and the vice-presidency of Information in charge of the Dominican Republic.

Finally, the Santiago declaration was also drafted under the title "Transforming and humanizing the city and the territory" considering the issues and agreements addressed during the meeting, where the authorities committed to generate an active role of the states in the implementation of planning policies and regulation of housing and urbanism, and to promote inclusive cities, with a gender approach that addresses existing inequalities, meet the goals of the 2030 Agenda together with the New Urban Agenda, and develop the Urban and Cities Platform for Latin America and the Caribbean, which was also presented during the meeting by Estefania Forero of the Human Settlements unit.
